It is placed in the lower right hand corner of the star compass that contains the following distances to other Kyrgyzstan cities from Bishkek, the capital:
TALAS 302 KM; KARAKOL 400 KM; OSH 672 KM; BATKEN 908 KM; JALALABAD 572 KM; NARYN 310 KM
It is also a few hundred feet in front of the statute of Kurmanjan Datka (see photo), a famous heroin in Kyrgyz history.
