These spheres are located at BP Canada Energy Company's NGL Storage facility at 10979 - 17th Street.
The area is known unofficially as refinery row where a number of oil refineries are found including Imperial Oil (Esso) and Suncor. Storage facilities for Enbridge are also seen from the roadside as you travel on baseline road.
The Strathcona Refinery (Imperial Oil), can process 187,000 barrels (29,700 m3) of crude oil per day; and the Suncor Edmonton Refinery (Suncor Energy), can process 135,000 barrels per day (21,500 m3/d). (see: (

The area is roughly bounded on the south by the Sherwood Park Freeway, the North Saskatchewan River and Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16) to the north, the Anthony Henday on the east and to the west somewhere between 34th Street and 50th Street.
