Salvaterra de Magos is a Portuguese village belonging to the SSantarém region, with about 5500 inhabitants.

It is the seat of a municipality with 244.74 km ² and 22,159 inhabitants (2011 census), divided into six parishes.

The origins of Salvaterra de Magos are very old, as this is a fertile region with many rivers, as confirmed in neighboring Muge you press the many prehistoric remains, and also Romans.

The Royal Palace, the splendid gardens, the Opera House and the bullfighting arena were destroyed in a major fire in 1824 and today the only remains of the Royal palace ara the Royal Chapel and the Falconry facilities.

It´s a village surrounded by fertile flatlands populated by horses, one of the biggest assets of the region.

The building where the city hall seems to have been part of the Royal Palace or a reconstruction of a building that was part of the Palace. it´s located oposite to the Royal Chappel and bears the a Coat of Arms that it´s very similar to the Coat of Arms of the kings of Portugal around the 1800´s. It has the 5 shields of Portugal in the middle, it´s surrounded by 7 castles and crowned by the Royal Crown. We didn+t find any evidences of this facts.
