The Golden Temple is the major Buddhist pagoda in the Myanmar city of Myawaddy, which is on the border with Thailand. This pagoda has any number of attractions, one of interest here are two bells, one at each of the main pagoda entrances. The bells are housed in attractive enclosures and are there to be rung by visitors, though a small donation would be considered appropriate.
The default image is on the northern bell. When I swung by a mother was monitoring her small son as he enthusiastically whacked the bell. At the other bell a group of school boys, on a break, were playing an informal game of soccer. All great fun. The bells are well crafted.
