Roughly about 40 metres high lonely chimney attracts travellers by the state road between towns of Malacky and Holic in western Slovakia, region Zahorie. It belongs to land register of village Laksarska Nova Ves, part Trnie very close to border of states Bratislavský kraj and Trnavský kraj.

The chimney was part of small distillery and starch factory since it was built in 1880-ties. The factory was owned by count Hirch von Berg, prince Karl Friedrich Hohenlohe von Ehrigen, and after WWI by dr. Arthur Czeczowiczka. In the distillery, an alcohol was burned and potato starch factory produced dextrin - roasted potato starch. During the WWII, there was a dryer for vegetables.

In the years 1930 - 1947 here has led a multi-purpose narrow-gauge railway from Dubrava the loading on the main line between the plant and Moravsky Svaty Jan. After year 1945 these facilities became state property, and were demolished sometime in the 50's. Later they've been rebuilt to cow sheds, which were demolished in the 90's.

Enjoy your visit!
