Ti Top island beach is ideal for swimming nearly year round, as even in winter the water temperature is still a pleasant 65-70 degrees F.
It is a small beach with clean white sand and clear waters. There is a badminton net on the beach and a bar with tables and benches. Fresh water is carried to the island from inland.
Ti Top Island got its name from Ghermann Titov, a Soviet cosmonaut who visited this tiny island in 1962 accompanied by President Ho Chi Minh. To perpetuate the remembrance of their visit, Ho Chi Minh named the place Ti Top Island.
The island’s first attraction is probably the pagoda-styled lookout at its summit. After climbing the 427 stone steps winding up the mountain, one is treated to the most incredible 360-degree view of Halong Bay.
The coordinates were taken at the arrival/departure pier.
