This is a 16-story apartment building in the east of Rheinfelden.
I could not find the exact dates, but it was built around 1970. When the construction was finished the building began to incline. Maybe the ground was not as stable as calculated, as a result of salt works the area has some unknown caverns.
As an emergency measure a large number of concrete pillars that go deep into the ground were attached to the basement of the building. This has stopped the movement and the tenants could move in.
The building is easy to identify. There are several others of the exactly same style in the closer area. But only one has these peculiar gray pillars around the base floor.
