This is a welcome sign in layers: it's placed at the entrance of the village of Bordeira, but also marks the entering in the administrative division of Santa Bárbara de Nexe. Oh and it's a special waymark for me, my own community welcome sign.
Also, there are several mottos there, probably the most interesting being "Barrocal Turistico". Barrocal is a geographic division of the region, characterized by its soil, wild life and vegetation. "Turistico" means "touristic".
"Terra de Nexe" it's a poetic reference to the "freguesia" (minor administrative division) of Santa Bárbara de Nexe.
