In Wellesley, at the Natick line, and just off Route 9, is a store named The Button Box Quilt Store and Sewing Center.
The store is on the north side of Route 9, a divided highway with driveways and traffic lights. There is a traffic light at Overbrook Road. Turn onto Overbrook and the store is on the right.
The store web site has the following text:
"Welcome to the Button Box Quilt Shop and Sewing Center. Our shop is located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where we offer a wide variety of fabric, books, patterns, buttons, handbag making supplies and notions. Our impressive array of sewing classes include hand and machine quilting, quilt making, home sewing and machine embroidery."
The store is also a dealer of Pfaff Sewing Machines in Germany.
On another page:
"In 1995 Catherine, a quilter with a background in art, joined forces with Carole, a quilter with years of retail experience. They have created a dynamic shop where local women can gather to learn and share tips and techniques while browsing through a wall of buttons and four thousand bolts of wonderful fabric."

At the time, there were three staff people, very eager to help. For me, it was just a gift certificate. But, it was obvious that they were very knowledgable if, for instance, I was interested in a sewing machine that did embroidery patterns (one was there).
