Moriah, is a Calvanistic Methodist Chapel,
(Presbyterian Church of Wales)
and Birthplace of the 1904 Welsh Revival.

You often see Tourist buses mostly Japanese & Asian,s taking photos of this World famous Grave of Evan Roberts.

Of all the names that are linked with the 1904 Revival, Evan Roberts is the most well known. At 26 years of age in the Autumn of 1904, he was to become an instant spiritual celebrity in Wales as the local and national newspapers of the day chronicled the spreading Religious Revival.

I have been told that in 1904 the church & streets in the area were crowded with congregation, all the way to the Globe Public House, for the services taken by Evan Roberts. (that sometimes went on until 4am in the morning.)

The Grave of Evan Roberts is in the front yard of Moria Chapel.
Evan is credited with the Welsh Revival, and it is said over 80% of the worlds Calvanistic/Methodist churches, can trace their roots back to Evan Roberts & Moria Chapel.

Description:
"Evan Roberts was born and raised in a Welsh Calvinist Methodist family in Loughor, on the Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire border. As a boy he was unusually serious and very diligent in his Christian life. He memorised verses of the Bible and was a daily attender of Moriah Chapel, a church about a mile from his home. Even at 13 years of age he began to develop a heart for a visitation from God. He later wrote “I said to myself: I will have the Spirit. And through all weathers and in spite of all difficulties I went to the meetings… for ten or eleven years I have prayed for revival. I could sit up all night to read or talk about revivals. It was the Spirit who moved me to think about revival.” After working in the coal mines and then as a smithy, he entered a preparatory college at Newcastle Emlyn, as a candidate for the ministry. It was 1903 and he was 25 years old. It was at this time that he sought the Lord for more of His Spirit. He is credited with the Calvanistic Methodist revival, & now hundreds of thousands World wide have come to God, as a result of his preaching."
