Ideea infiintarii manastirii a aparut in urma unor pelerinaje la cele mai vestite manastiri din tara organizate de un preot in perioada 1984-1988 dupa care, credinciosii din comuna Floresti isi exprima dorinta de a avea o manastire in apropierea Clujului. La manastire functioneaza ateliere de pictura, croitorie si de covoare.
