[cs] Rozhledna na nejvyšším vrcholku pohorí Chriby na Brdu (587 metru) je vskutku originálním dílem. Je totiž postavená z kamene, pricemž stavba obdobného typu byla v naší vlasti postavena naposledy ve 30. letech 20. století! Soucasná rozhledna na Brdu však není první stavbou tohoto typu na tomto míste. Stávala zde totiž drevená vyhlídková vež, která dosloužila v 70. letech 20. století.
-Dnešní vež na Brdu je postavena z pískovce lomu Žlutava metodou tzv. kyklopského zdiva. Zajímavostí je, že stavební materiál byl postupne na Brdo vynášen dobrovolníky. Autorem oku lahodící veže je Svatopluk Sládecek a Bohuslav Stránský, kterí byli za svuj pocin vyznamenáni Obcí architektu „Cestným uznáním v kategorii krajinárská a zahradní tvorba“ v souteži Grand Prix 2005.
-Základní kámen 23,9 metru vysoké veže rozhledny byl položen 28. ríjna 2001. Hlavním iniciátorem a investorem stavby bylo Sdružení pro podporu místních iniciativ Chriby, které se na výstavbe rozhledny podílelo spolu s Mikroregionem Buchlov, Klubem ceských turistu, Lesní správou Buchlovice a místní skautskou organizací. Náklady na rozhlednu se vyšplhaly na 5,5 milionu korun, i když puvodne se pocítalo s miliony sedmi. Prispeli obcané, okolní mesta a obce, soukromé firmy, kraj i stát (3 mil. dotace od Ministerstva pro místní rozvoj). Cást penez byla získána prodejem pohlednic s plánovanou podobou veže. Výstavba probíhala podle toho, jak se clenum Sdružení darilo shánet peníze. Dostavbu urychlila pujcka, kterou poskytla místní stavební firma STAVEKO, Uherské Hradište.
-Rozhledna, jejímuž zprístupnení požehnal olomoucký arcibiskup a moravský metropolita Jan Graubner, byla otevrena presne po trech letech od položení základního kamene, tj. 28. ríjna 2004. Jen v tento den si na Brdo našlo cestu více než tisíc turistu.

Some of the money was obtained by selling postcards with the planned appearance of the tower. Construction proceeded according to how the members of the Association managed to raise money.
