This barn is located in the small town Termen east of Brig in the canton Wallis. It is in active use and good shape. It is mainly used to store hay and food for sheep. Many locals who are not farmers anymore and have their daily job in an office or factory in the city still keep a few dozen sheep they look for after work.

The construction type is very typical for the Alpine valleys of this area. They have a stone base floor that is used to store equipment. The upper floor is from timber and is used to store hay and grain. The special local style is that the upper floor is elevated and sits on a couple of conic columns with a horizontal raw slate on top to keep the rodents off.
Construction: Combination

Is this a 'working' barn?: Hay Barn (used to store hay or grains)
