This pretty hand-painted mailbox stands outside the potting shed for the ISU Demonstration Gardens in Urbandale (also a Waymark). It captures the garden theme of the surrounding gardens which include such special plots as Butterfly Garden, Birdhouse Island, Rose Garden, and the Rainbow Connection. One side has images of butterflies and flowers; the other side has “Master Gardeners” written on it with butterflies and vines. The front has a coneflower painted on the door. Visitors are encouraged to spend a little time relaxing on the benches or enjoying a picnic at the tables provided.
The garden, potting shed, and mailbox are located on the corner of Dewey Gibbs Road and 92nd Street near Valerius Elementary School.
