Shogun Japanese Steakhouse is located in Northpark Mall. Entrance is from inside the mall, far south end.
Guests are greeted by wait staff in traditional Japanese attire, and immediately given warm wash cloths for hand cleaning. The menu here is pretty simple, but has a large variety of main entrees. Appetizers are Japanese soup and a house salad.
As you finish your appetizer, the chef arrives and starts to cook your meal at the table. First is the rice and shrimp, followed by any entree meats, then the vegetables. Vegetables served with all meals include squash, onions, broccoli, carrots, mung bean sprouts, and mushrooms. Two dipping sauces are provided: one for steak and vegetables (a ginger sauce) and the other for seafood and chicken.
Drink refills are free, and are given often. Meals here are very big, so you may need a take-out box to bring some home.
Reservations are highly encouraged during peak party times, like the holidays and school graduations.
A bar is available on site, with a large seating area and wonderful ambiance.
