The first railway in Lagos station was inaugurated in the 30th July 1922. But the old building is not in use anymore although it stands there, a few dozen meters far from the current station.

The modern station was built in the first years of the 21st century and it was concluded in 2006.

Lagos station is one of the ends of the railway which connects this region from West to East, which means, from the Atlantic Ocean to the border with Spain. It's possible to travel to main destinations, like Lisbon, changing trains in the station of Tunes.
