Bridleway status allows cyclists, walkers and horse riders, but no vehicles. There is only a Bridleway finger post sign at roadside at Broughton in Furness. LDNPA are not really promoting this small success.
Lake District National Park Authority have negotiated with land owners to make this available for public use. In 1967 when it was closed, the rail bed was sold back to farmers, who took the bridges down. Bridges now replaced using sleepers and handrails.
As you can see plenty of use from walkers and cyclists, even on quiet days. Line is crossed by many footpaths, main access points are at either end of small section that has been reclaimed.
