Mariposario - Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico - Butterfly Houses on Waymarking.com

This butterfly house, known as the Mariposario, is located in the Tijuana Zoo which in turn is located in Morelos State Park. Unfortunately, the Park, zoo and butterfly house do not have websites.
The Butterfly house was not open when visited by the poster of this waymark in mid-December, 2011. The sign does not indicate the days or hours that the site is open. However, the sign does indicate (in Spanish) that the house provides a protected space to breed and exhibit butterflys (mariposas) in favorable conditions of temperature and humidity isolated from predators (hornets, spiders and birds). The sign makes reference to butterflies, moths and "skippers" - a family of lepidoptera I had not previously heard of.
The Mariposario and Zoo are located inside Morelos State Park at Blvd. Insurgentes #16000, Tijuana, Mexico. There is no charge for the Park or Zoo. The Zoo is open Thu-Sun. - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
