The Ancient City of Aleppo it's a world for itself, hard to describe in a single text. Aleppo, as a whole, is the second city of Syria, with about 3 million inhabitants.

I was lucky enough to stay with a local friend who owns a hotel located directly near one of the doors of the old town. I spent two full days exploring all the monuments, markets, roads and alleys of the Ancient City of Aleppo. There are few obvious highlights: the mosque and the citadel are perhaps the two most important. Otherwise the network of streets and alleys have endless interesting details, and the people brings the spice to the whole place, so nice, friendly, welcoming and warm.
