This church is still an active use by its original congregation! Built on the former site of the Cogswell family's 1850s home, this Beaux Arts-style structure exhibits a strong Italian Renaissance influence. Designed by Rochester architects Gordon and Kaelber, the church was begun in the fall of 1914 and completed in 1916 at the cost of approximately $250,000. The church boasts four impressive granite pillars at its entrance. The roof is covered with Spanish tiles. Note this building's symmetry and the leaded glass windows. There is a mention of this building in the Rochester and Monroe County American Guide series in Tour 2:
"designed in the neo-classic style, with wide steps leading to a curved main entrance through a portico with Corintian columns copied after those of the Temple of Lysicrates, Athens. The interior is in the form of a large circular auditorium with an ornamental dome." (p 174)
