At just over 300m Maen Esgob is not one of the highest mountains in the area but the views of the coast and the mountains of Snowdonia from its summit more than make up for its meagre height.
There are some really big stones at the base of the cairn. The cairn has probably been added to over the years by visitors to the summit.
The cairn and summit are easily accessed from the North Wales Path (NWP) which skirts the bottom of Maen Esgob. I approached Maen Esgob from the small village of Capelulo but it is possible to follow the NWP from Conwy, Penmaenmawr or even Llanfairfechan to reach the cairn.
