The Hard Rock Cafe, Boston is known for the walls of musical symbols behind the two bars within the cafe. When you enter the main doors, you are basically at one end of the main dining room and at the entrance into the smaller dining room where live music is often being played in the evenings. You are also opposite where the restroom area is located. At the end of the large, main bar the restroom sign shines in bright blue neon. Follow this into the alcove where going right will take you to the Women's restroom and going left will take you to the Men's restroom. The Elvis photo hung on the alcove wall is to the left, close to the doorway of the Men's restroom. This restroom alcove is also the location of several Beatles items of interest.
This is a photo taken by Alfred Wertheimer in 1956, before Elvis became world famous. Elvis was just starting his singing career and Alfred Wertheimer was assigned to spend a day with Elvis and to tak photos of him at home and during his daily activities. These photos have made Wertheimer famous as a successful photographer. His series of photos of Elvis from which this photo came tours the country as the exhibition "Elvis at 21."
