At the rear entrance of the Enfield public library at 104 Middle Road is a 43" by 27" by 3" bas relief sculpture of a child reading a story book and the characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The work was sculpted by Janice Loomis and installed outside the rear entrance to the library on October 6, 1988. It was a gift of the artist to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Enfield Library.

A rectangular pure white bas relief sculpture depicts a young child sitting on the ground and reading a book held in both hands. Walking in the direction of the child on a curved brick road are characters from the "Wizard of Oz". Dorothy, her dog Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion are in the front with other character following behind. In the upper left sky is the Wicked Witch of the West riding a broom, then the Emerald City, a hot air balloon, and a tornado. A field of poppies fills the foreground.
