A robbery of the century took place in September 2002 in Evropská street in Prague 6 in front of Citibank.

Several masked gunmen attacked an armored van owned by security company Group 4 Securitas which was carrying Citibank cash. This man pointing guns at the driver and security personnel and showing them a sheet of paper reading "We have a bomb on us, get out!". The security staff gave in and the robbers ran away in the van, getting away with the equivalent of more than CZK 150 million. No one was injured in the attack.
The Czech police accused four people of the "robbery of the century" in which 154.2 million crowns ($1=18.896 crowns) were stolen in 2002, they accused Tomas Puta and Maros Sulej, who were arrested in Ireland and extradited home in the past years. The other two accused suspects are prosecuted as fugitive.
Another three persons might have been involved in the robbery but the police said they do not have enough evidence to level accusations against them.
After more than six years of police investigation, the first track of one of the culprits that have commited what is believed to be the biggest cash robbery in the country has appeared. It was in 2008 - after a long years this was the first track leading to a concrete person related to the van robbery that police has got.
