Description:
Vodnik is sitting on the stone together with big frog, watching his
"water kingdom" - Cierna Voda creek with ducks, swans, frogs and fish.
The creek was revitalized just recently - junkyard was converted to public park by village of Bernolakovo, western Slovakia.
About the creature:
Vodnik (Vodyanoy, Wasserman, hastrman, ...) is usually depicted as ugly green man with wide mouth, greenish beard and long hair,
covered in algae and muck, usually covered in black fish scales.
Czech and Slovak tales have both evil and good vodnik (relative to human being) who do (or don't, respectively) try to drown people when they happen to swim in their territory.
Anyway, whoever drowns, vodnik would store their souls in porcelain lid-covered cups.
He consider his cups as the most valuable heritage and display his "work", and number these cups they see as proportional to their wealth and/or status among other vodniks.
When the lid of such a cup is removed, the soul within (in a form of a bubble) will escape and be liberated.
Except for fish (or perhaps fish spirits), they do not have servants.

Tohto vodnika najdete sediet a dohliadat na svoje kralovstvo na brehu potocka Cierna Voda, okolo ktoreho je v Bernolakove upraveny pekny verejny park.
O vodnikovi:
Sedi tu spolu s velkou zabou na kameni a cuduje sa mnozstvu ludi, co sa sem chodia rekreovat. Park bol len nedavno rekultivovany z ciernej skladky odpadu.
Okolie je velmi pekne upravene, mozno krmit kacky, labute, lovit kesky, je tu detske ihrisko, lavicky a zopar fotogenickych zakuti.
Nieco o vodnictve:
Ako vieme, vodnici su zeleny skaredy muzici so zelenou slizkou pokozkou, dlhymi riasnatymi vlasmi, vypulenymi ocami.
Spravidla ide zlu bytost, ktora skodi ludom a topi neskusenych plavcov za ucelom ziskania ich dusi.
Tie si potom uchovava vo farebnych hrncekoch pod vieckom na policke. Pocet hrncekov predstavuje ich najcennejsie dedicstvo a podla neho sa urcuje bohatstvo a spolocensky status vodnika.
Vo vynimocnom pripade sa moze stat, ze sa viecko hrnceka pootvori a dusicka sa oslobodi vo forme bubliny, co vyplava na hladinu vodnickeho kralovstva.
Vodnici zvyknu vladnut celemu rybnicnemu svetu, jazdia na sumcovi a vela fajcia.
