Volunteer firefighters Torrejanos (BVT) came at a time when the association was not very well seen in the village, but despite the difficulties, a group of men fought and brought to a successful conclusion to built a fire station in Torres Novas.

A permit from the Civil Government of Santarém, dated September 14, 1932, approved the statutes of the association, making it official. Despite having the first service held on December 17 that same year, TVB only started business in 1933, and its baptism of fire in fire fighting which broke out on January 8, 1933.
The inspection for the body active was held at the headquarters on 26 and 27 August 1932, and cleared 25 of the 35 men who had enlisted.
