L’occitan ou langue d’oc est une langue parlée dans le tiers sud de la France.
Les Félibres sont les membres du Félibrige, mouvement littéraire fondé en 1854 par Frédéric Mistral et six autres poètes provençaux pour assurer la renaissance et la promotion de la langue d’oc.
Le fabuliste Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian (1755-1794), petit-neveu de Voltaire par alliance, est enterré dans le jardin sur le côté de l'église Saint Jean-Baptiste.
Il est considéré comme le précurseur de ce mouvement littéraire fondé en 1854 par Frédéric Mistral et quelques amis. Il se fit connaître par ses fables.
10 bustes furent installés au fur et à mesure autour du bassin:
Jean-Charles Brun, Sextius Michel, Joseph Loubet, Pierre Deluns Montaud, Clovis Hugues, Paul Mariéton, Téodor Aubanel, Frédéric Mistral, Paul Arène et Maurice Faure.
Une plaque (voir photo), inaugurée en 1950, rappelle l'intéret de la ville de Sceaux pour les écrivains en langue d'oc.

The Occitan or the langue d'oc is a spoken language in the third South of France.
Félibres is the members of the Félibrige, the literary movement based in 1854 by Frédéric Mistral and six other Provençal poets to assure the revival and the promotion of the langue d'oc.
The writer of fables Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian (1755-1794), the great-nephew of Voltaire by alliance, is buried in the garden on the side of the church "Saint Jean-Baptiste".
He is considered as the precursor of this literary movement based in 1854 by Frédéric Mistral and some friends. He became known by his fables.
10 busts were installed as one goes along around the pond:
Jean-Charles Brun, Sextius Michel, Joseph Loubet, Pierre Deluns Montaud, Clovis Hugues, Paul Mariéton, Téodor Aubanel, Frédéric Mistral, Paul Arène and Maurice Faure.
A plate (see photo), inaugurated in 1950, calls back the intéret of the city of Sceaux for the writers in langue d'oc.
