The railway station was first opened in 1844 and at that time was one of the biggest in the UK.
The station underwent a major renovation between 2005 and 2009 and this sign was erected at the same time.
The Pride Park exit serves the nearby stadium of Derby County football club which plays in the Football League Championship.
