Caminhos (Paths) is a work of the Portuguese artist Paulo Quaresma.
The sculpture was developed during the II Symposium Internacional de Escultura (II International sculpture symposium) when the invited artists work on their sculptures in the street in front of everyone passing by. The sculptures then remain on the site in exhibition. This event started with only 4 artists and today there are more than 30 sculptures in Portimão and Alvor. The ideia, in a mid term, is to create a sculpture museum in the open.
Paths is a column of marble with what can be a labyrinth carve in it. This labyrinth symbolises the path or the road that will lead somewhere but sometimes we can see the end of the road and others...
