This lavoir is situated on the edge of the village of Biniaraix on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

According to a plaque on the wall the lavoir was used between the 18th and 19th Centuries.
It is fed from a spring at the left hand side and then the water is channelled into a covered area where the clothes washing would have been done.
As would be expected the washing area is divided into several sections to allow for the various stages of the wash, and how dirty the clothes were.
At the source of the water is a separate sink, which was presumably used for the final rinse. These days it has a tap in the wall which only operates when it's held pushed in. I assume that originally the water would have flowed continuously.
