The Dairy Dome, an ice cream shop that has a large gold dome, is in a building that was once the Colonial Beacon gas station - at least that was what the sign said in the bathroom.

In Stoneham, along Main Street, is the Dairy Dome, an ice cream shop that is in a white building with a yellow-gold dome and spire. This building was once an old gas station that goes back to 1922.
The building has been altered, but the basic architecture of the gas station is still visible. The chief feature is the dome with the spire. The dome is hemispherical with a white railing surrounding it in an octagonal pattern. Note that, when looking from Main Street, the spire has a definite lean! To the left there is a protrusion that possibly was a garage area. Below, awnings cover the building, and there are many more windows than there would originally have been.
There are a couple businesses in this building. The main business is the Dairy Dome, an ice cream shop that serves both soft serve and regular ice cream/sorbet (which was also a bit soft, but good).
The 'proof' that this was once a gas station was found in the bathroom, where there is a sign that states:
"1922
Colonial Beacon Gas Station
National Register of Historic Places"
According to the Wikipedia article on this building, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
