The Convento is an old Franciscan Convent built in 1601 in classic style.
The convent was initially composed by a small church and later was expanded to it´s actual form. It has a small cloister with two floors, a church with a single nace and a chancel separated from the main church.
The Bell tower was probably built at the same time as the church and holds up to 4 bells. It´s crowned by a Latin Cross with a rooster underneath, probably representing the "Galo de Barcelos" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooster_of_Barcelos)
