This 3' (0.9144 m) tall William Shakespeare is delicately executed by (then) Mesa State University Professor Charles Hardy. The piece sits on a pedestal in the (now named) Passage Artwalk on the campus of Colorado Mesa University.

Bearded standing figure of William Shakespeare dressed in 16th century costume with ruffled collar. Both hands are clasping the top of a shoulder-height staff. His proper right leg is bent and only the toe of his proper right foot touches the ground in back of proper left foot. Surfaces are textured using an incised linear pattern in the clothing and organic modeling in the face, hands and boots. Platform on which figure is standing is made up of a pebble-like surface in an irregular shape.
