Alle Seile wurden bei der Firma Fatzer AG in der Schweiz hergestellt.
Auf der 3.600 Meter langen Strecke, die 1.725 Höhenmeter überwindet, gibt es nur 3 Stützen. So haben die Passagiere eher ein Flug- als ein Fahrgefühl. Darum wird die Tiroler Zugspitzbahn auch liebevoll die "Himmelstürmerin" genannt.
Die insgesamt zwei Panorama-Kabinen mit einer Standfläche von 6,9 x 3,3 m bieten bequem 100 Personen Platz. Innerhalb von 10 Minuten wird der Höhenunterschied von 1.725 m überwunden.
Die Kabinen wurde von der Firma CWA Constructions SA/Corp. in der Schweiz produziert.
Direkt an der Talstation befindet sich ein Technik-Schauraum. Hier hat man Einblick in den Antrieb der Bahn. Anhand von Schautafeln wird der genaue Ablauf beschrieben.
Die Talstation wurde vom Architekturbüro Armin Walch geplant.
