The Summit Brewery was founded in 1986 by Mark Stutrud and began production in an old auto parts warehouse in St. Paul, Minnesota. Stutrud believed in the traditional brewing methods used throughout the Midwest. Their beers quickly became a local favorite.
In 1998 the company moved to it's current location and in 2011 they celebrated their 25th anniversary. Today Summit is the 3rd largest brewery in Minnesota (31st largest in the United States). Their output is in the top 50 US breweries and their beers are sold in 17 states.
