This locomotive served a brewery from 1903 until 1984. It is now located in the center of a traffic circle near the former brewery location.

This locomotive was built in 1903 in Jungenthal, Germany. It is a fireless steam locomotive, what looks like the steam boiler is in fact a storage tank for compressed steam produced in the brewery, where the locomotive always had to return in time for a refill.
The locomotive was used to transport the wagons with beer from the brewery location to the public railway station where it was loaded to freight trains. The locomotive was in use from 1903 until 1984 for the brewery "Salmen" (after a merger in 1972 renamed to "Cardinal").
The name of this locomotive is a pet name, but it was official. In the local dialect it indicates something very small and cute, but it is not a toy: 5.7 meters long, 3.5 meters high and a steam storage volume of 4 cubic meters.
In 1991 the locomotive became property of the brewery "Feldschlösschen" also located in Rheinfelden. After 2002 some railway enthusiasts restored the locomotive and then the brewery donated it to the town Rheinfelden. It is now on public display in the center of a traffic circle near the location of the former brewery.
