The Almond is a Portuguese river that is born in Serra de Aire 5 km northwest of Torres Novas, on the slope of the Serra de Aire, near Almond, which he named. On its way 30 miles crosses the towns of Torres Novas and Golegã where flows into the right bank of the Tagus River.
The Dam is located right next to the entry to the Cave entrance, house of many prehistoric features.
