In 1859, the link between Lisbon and Porto via the careers of the mail-coach was made in 34 hours and passed through 23 stations changes.
Milestone to mark the intersection points of the route of a Santarém-Caldas da Rainha. Was ordered up by Queen Mary I in 1788, according to enrollment. Rises atop a small hill, and consists of a small platform, on which rests a parallelepiped inscribed on both of their faces, you can read a road that is / comes from the Cal / das / Rainha, and in the other> i> Road that / goes / to Santarém / year 1788.
