• Zámek stojí na skalnaté ostrožne nad rybníkem. Byl vystaven na míste puvodního strážního hrádku, který byl zpustošen pri válecném tažení Švédského vojska za tricetileté války.

• Staviteli soucasného zámku byli Engelové z Engelsflussu, kterí panství koupili roku 1655. 
  První majitel, Servác Engel z Engelflussu, pocházel z Flander a živil se jako koželuh. Za války získal znacné jmení díky dodávkám pro císarskou armádu. Navíc byl povýšen do šlechtického stavu za své hrdinské zásluhy pri obrane Prahy pred Švédy. Engelové se zasloužili nejen o výstavbu zámku, ale také o obnovu zpustošeného mesta a okolních vesnic.

• Zajímavostí zámku je, že ackoliv má ctvercový pudorys, má jen tri vížky. Dve jsou na celních nárožích, tretí se nachází ve stredu protilehlého traktu. Povest ríká, že ctvrtou vež ukradl cert. Skutecnost je prozaictejší -puvodne mel zámek mít vež na každém ze ctyr nároží, ale jeho majitelé od toho upustili z financních duvodu.

• V dalších stoletích zámek nekolikrát zmenil majitele. Posledními majiteli byli Kastové z Ebelsbergu, kterí v letech 1910-1911 na zámku provedli poslední vetší prestavby.

• Na konci druhé svetové války byl zámek vyplenen. Po válce byl konfiskován a sloužil jako archiv ministerstva vnitra.

• V soucasnosti je zámek v péci Národního památkového ústavu a je prístupný verejnosti v návštevních hodinách, a to i v zimním období.

• Návštevníci mohou využít dve prohlídkové trasy seznamující s životem nižší šlechty na zacátku 20. století. Specialitou zámku jsou príležitostné prohlídky pro deti.
  V objektu se konají i cetné kulturní akce a návštevníci se mohou potešit i ve stylové hospudce.

• The château stands on a rocky promontory over the pond. Was founded at the site of the original stronghold which was burned by the Swedes during the Thirty years war.

• The current château was built by the family Engels of Engelfluss in the second half of 16th century. The first owner, Servac Engel of Engelfluss, was tanner from Fnlanders. During the war he got rich of the supplies for the emperor army.

• Three towers belong is the most interesting things of this building because château has four wings and also four corners. Old legeng says that the fourth tower was stolen by the devil. True version of this story is more prosaic - the owners of the castle did not have the money to build a fourth tower.

• In following centuries the castle changed owners several times. The last owners were Kasts of Ebelsberg. Between 1910-1911 they made the last reconstruction of the château.

• At the end of the Second world war the château was plundered. After the was confiscated and used as an archive of the Ministry of the Interior.

• Since 2000 the chateau has been owned by National Heritage Institute. Consequently, complete reconstruction of devastated building started. In 2008 the reconstruction works were finished.

• At present, the chateau is open to the public in visiting hours.

• Tourists can visit two sightseeing tour. The specialty of the chateau are occasional tours for children and also many cultural events take place here.
  Stylish pub is another attraction of the chateau.
