The Astron (previously named Esmeralda and Bonnie) is a shipwreck located off the coast of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic at Bavaro Beach.

This ship was a Russian owned freighter built in France during 1957 with 120 metres (131 yards) long.
At time of the acident, the Astron was delivering 60 tons of corn to Cuba. She broke apart into two pieces with the bow above the water and the stern underwater, with 7,330 barrels of bunker fuel being recorded to have been lost by the incident.
