EN: World-known Cunning Little Vixen was born near gamekeeper's house in Stritez. Local game warden found the deserted fox and raised it with domestic animals.
In 1889 painter Stanislav Lojek created a set of 195 illustrations about Vixen's adventures. These illustrations were released in Czech newspaper Lidove noviny. Then Czech novelist Rudolf Tesnohlidek wrote a fairy-tale about the fox inspired by these illustrations. Finally the fairy-tale by Tesnohlidek was an inspiration for opera The Cunning Little Vixen composed by Leos Janacek. First performance of this world-known opera was in 1924 in Brno.
