The 2000 Arctic Winter Games' Torch
The stylized design combines the three rings of the Arctic Winter Games Logo - symbolizing athletic competition, cultural exhibition and social interchange - with the image of the ula, a traditional northern cutting tool. The ula, of course, is also the unique shape of the games award medals, first lit at the opening ceremonies, the sculpture was a torch of light the week of the Games, offering strength and warmth to all participants.
The sculpture has been given to the city of Whitehorse as a legacy to the Arctic Winter Games.
