The doors of Bill Bally’s blacksmith shop are closed and locked after the recent passing of its owner. The blacksmith business had been in the family for many years when Bill moved to Grand Marais with his parents, and he continued in the business after school and serving in the Korean conflict. He loved his work and the natural setting of this historic lakeside community.
