The village has it's links with the history of Belgium, when in 1848 French annexionists wanted to invade in order to annex Belgium.
They should have known this was deemed to fail, after all Risquons-tout means 'risk everything'.
The water tower was built in mid 1930.
It houses a tank of 900m³ and water is pumped into the tower from a reservoir of 7000m³.
The tower is maintained by "le Service de Captage et de Refoulement de Mouscron (SCRM)" and is located at Place de la fraternité/Verbroederingsplein.
