An old lime kiln that has been restored by the local municipality.
Near the kiln there are several panels that explain how lime was produce in these kilns and the importance of this activity for the economical development of the region.
The location of this lime kiln (and the others in the area) occurs because Paço de Arcos, located very close to the coastline, presented an easy and proximal solution to the shipping of the processed raw material to nearby Lisbon.
