The monument itself is a tailshaped piece of Himalaya Blue granite.
It's placed next to a small chapel, O.L.V. Ter Biest, or commonly Koortskapel, at the end of a road.
Although that chapel is public property, you drive through a farmer's machinery parking lot. So don't drive the road up to the end.
The text is as follows
"N° 107 Squadron
Dedicated to the memory of
Sq. Ldr P.R. Barr DFC
P/O T. Trotter
F/O W. Barfod DFC
Wt. Offr. N.S.H. Philips RCAF

Who gave their lives for our freedom,
when their Boston III, Z2157-OM
crashed near this spot on November 7th 1942.

Zij gaven hun leven voor onze vrijheid
toen hun Boston III, Z2157-OM
neerstortte nabij deze plaats op 7 november 1942

When you go home, tell them of us, and say,
for your tomorrow we gave our today"

During a raid above Kortrijk the plane drifted off course and found itself in the vicinity of the Wevelgem airfield. It was shot down by AA Flak which was positioned around the airfield.
