Basel SBB is Europe's largest border station; there are many international connections as well as national and regional trains.

Over 1000 passenger trains leave this station every single day, this means about one train per minute in the daytime, maybe more. Some dozen additional freight trains that pass the station as well are not even counted.

Apart from the national connections to all important national destinations there are direct connections to Germany, France, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands.

Check out the main picture! Within one shot I got (from left to right):

- TGV (French high-speed train)
- FLIRT (Swiss regional combination)
- ICN (Swiss high-speed tilting train)
- Re4/4 (a Swiss freight train locomotive, the red one mainly hidden behind the ICN)
- ICE (German high-speed train)
- a Swiss standard InterCity with a panorama wagon
- another Re4/4 in waiting position (also mainly hidden)
- and a yellow Be4/8 tramway of the BLT.

This is not a situation you have to wait for a long time, just stay a couple of minutes on this bridge.
