Today, Safira is a village without people. It is estimated that their past inhabitants have left in mid-1930.

According to some historians, the abandonment took place because people went looking for better living conditions, since it is a very isolated place.

From what Safira once was, there are only the houses left (some partly in ruins), and the small church.
