13 Künstler oder Künstlergruppen brauchten zehn Tage die bis dahin mit eher unansehnlichen Graffiti bedeckte Mauer zu verschönern. Dem Zoo war der Wettbewerb „ARTgerecht“ 20.000 Euro wert. 60 Bewerbungen von professionellen Wandmalern gingen ein, eine Jury wählte die Besten aus. Eine Fläche von jeweils 10 X 2,20 Metern stand ihnen zur Verfügung.
Die Maler gehen davon aus, dass die Farbe rund fünf Jahre halten wird. In Sprayerkreisen gilt der Ehrenkodex, dass gute Arbeiten wie diese nicht übermalt werden.

13 artists or artist groups took ten days to beautify the rather unsightly graffiti with previously covered wall. The zoo was the competition "Animal" worth 20,000 euros. 60 applications were received by professional muralists, a jury selected the best. An area of 10 X 2.20 meters was available to them.
The painters are assuming that the color will last about five years. Sprayers in circles is the code of honor that good works such as these are not painted over.
