To my knowledge, this is the first Taco Bell in the country of Korea opened in 2011. The menu is typical with a few Korean twists.
Itaewon has long been a center for foreign visitors and residents in Seoul, being located adjacent to the large Yongsan military base with a large U.S. contingent. (This base will be largely relocated within the next few years being replaced by planned urban development).
The streets are always crowded. Foreigners abound, not only from the U.S. and Europe but from the Mideast and Africa. Korea's only mosque is located only a few blocks from this Taco Bell, as is the Hamilton Hotel which caters to foreign visitors. Other U.S. chain restaurants are nearby such as Coldstone Creamery, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and Burger King.
